Fees
The Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. (AAPi) recommends a fee of $340 per 50 minute session. Kapwa Psychology charges below this rate in order to keep care accessible, and fees are reviewed annually.
Some clients choose to access Medicare rebates with a valid referral and Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) or Eating Disorder Management Plan (EDMP). Others prefer to attend privately, without a GP referral or session limits. Both are welcome.
If you have questions about fees or would like to discuss your situation before booking, you're welcome to get in touch.

Medicare Rebates You may be eligible for a rebate of $145.25 if you hold a valid MHCP or EDMP from your GP.
Attending Privately If you choose to attend privately, a GP referral is not required. Some clients choose to attend privately without session limits or requirements of a MHCP.
Private health insurance may also provide a rebate depending on your level of cover. Check directly with your fund.

Initial consultation (80 minutes): $300
Standard session (50 minutes): $260
Extended session (80 minutes): $380
Extended sessions allow additional time for preparation, processing, and integration within the same appointment - and may suit those who find it difficult to attend frequently. We can discuss whether this format is right for you.
A note on fees for EMDR therapy
Medicare rebates are available for EMDR sessions with a valid Mental Health Care Plan. For extended sessions, the standard 50 minute rebate applies - the gap fee is higher than for a standard session.
Private health insurance may also provide a rebate depending on your level of cover. Check directly with your fund.
